Currently the most requested medical aesthetic treatments are Botulinum Toxin for the underarms to reduce excessive sweating (Hyperhidrosis). People who sweat excessively often soak through their clothing or drip sweat. Regular antiperspirants don’t work well for those with this condition.  This works by blocking the nerves responsible for activating your sweat glands. Normally, your nervous system activates your sweat glands when your body temperature rises. This is how your body automatically cools itself. In people with hyperhidrosis, however, the nerves that signal the sweat glands are overactive.

I also use Botulinum Toxin to help treat symptoms of Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders.  Mainly used for jaw tension and pain due to the grinding of teeth or excessive muscle strength in this area.  People who are affected by the disorder, report pain in and around the ear and jaw, on one or both sides of the face as well as headache, tension, inability to open and close the mouth comfortably, and painful clicking, popping, or grinding sounds when speaking, chewing, or yawning. By injecting directly into the muscle, Botox limits muscle function, and decreases TMJ symptoms.  This method of injecting can also be used to slim the sides of the face if you have large masseter muscles.
